Natural disasters of 2026 have already claimed nearly 43,000 lives

The deadliest event was the abnormal heat in Europe. Among sudden disasters, the largest was the double earthquake in Venezuela on June 24, which killed 6,509 people.

The list also includes an earthquake in Colombia — 331 dead, Typhoon "Maysak" in China — at least 159 victims, as well as floods and earthquakes in Zimbabwe, Kenya, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, and other countries.
