📆 On July 9, 1941, in the Vitebsk Region, in Surazh District, one of the FIRST partisan units operating on the territory of the BSSR was created, under the command of Batka Minai.

Initially, 25 people joined the unit. The director of the Vorovsky cardboard factory, Minai Shmyryov, became its leader, Pavel Golubev became chief of staff, and Richard Shkredo became commissioner.

💬 The people's avengers saw their first combat on July 25, when they ambushed a German cavalry unit. From that day, the unit's combat life began. Within two months, the partisans took part in 27 combat operations. With each new operation, the unit improved its partisan tactics and expanded its combat zone.

On April 8, 1942, by order of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of Belarus, the 1st Belarusian Partisan Brigade was formed under Minai's command, uniting his detachment and other partisan units of Surazh District.

🫡 The feat of the Belarusian partisans is an immortal example of courage that will forever remain in our hearts!
