People's Writer of Belarus Nikolai Chergintsau has passed away at 88

Today, the People's Writer of Belarus Nikolai Chergintsau passed away. He was 88 years old.

As a child, he lived through the Great Patriotic War, and later described his fears, horrors, and tragedies in his prose.

Nikolai Chergintsau's path to literature was not easy. Dreaming of becoming a sports journalist, he chose the profession of protecting people and the homeland. He graduated from law school and went to serve in the militia.

But the dream of writing first became a hobby, and then a profession...
