Poland demands €2.3K annual payments from Germany for Nazi persecution survivors
Poland is demanding that Germany pay annual reparations of €2,300 for each surviving victim of Nazi persecution, according to Süddeutsche Zeitung. The measure concerns approximately 50,000 people who lived under the Nazi regime. If implemented, the total annual payments could reach about €300 million. Earlier, Warsaw had previously raised the issue of reparations in a much larger amount—around €1.3 trillion in 2022—but Germany rejected those demands at the time.
