Poland threatens fines or prison for filming military equipment

Poland's Ministry of Defence has issued another warning: photographing or filming military equipment could result in heavy fines or imprisonment. Polish media and messaging apps are circulating alarming messages from the military stating that large-scale troop and equipment movements will take place on July 13 and 14, and filming must be strictly avoided. As of April 2025, Poland will ban photography even near military facilities — around 25,000 such sites have been designated, effectively placing nearly the entire country under restrictions. Notably, there is no outcry from human rights activists or grant-funded NGOs, as this does not concern them.
