Russia paints black-and-white stripes on military trucks to fool Ukrainian drone AI

According to The Economist, Russia has started painting bright black-and-white stripes on military trucks to confuse machine vision systems of Ukrainian drones.

This tactic aims to complicate target recognition by drone artificial intelligence.

The publication notes that both sides are now engaged in a real arms race: Ukraine is improving AI-based recognition systems, while Russia is developing increasingly sophisticated camouflage methods.

However, any advantage in this area is likely to be temporary — as AI gradually adapts to new types of camouflage through learning.
