Slovakia blocks EU proposal to extend sanctions against Russia for a year

Slovakia has blocked the EU's proposal to extend sanctions against Russia for a year. Currently, sanctions are renewed every six months, with the current period set to expire on September 15. Approval from all 27 member states is required to extend the sanctions for a year.
