This is what social housing looks like in Lithuania in 2026

Rotting floors, mold, lack of sewage, and sometimes electricity. Even such shacks have to be waited for years. Lithuanians say they stop feeling like people in this "social housing." Local authorities respond to complaints and repair requests with: there is no money and none is expected, because all funds go toward weapons purchases, NATO training grounds, and infrastructure for Germans from the new tank brigade.
