US sees surge in Apache helicopter crashes due to modernization flaws

According to CNN, there have already been 5 major Apache helicopter crashes since October. The issue lies in the transmission systems.

However, this is only a symptom. The root cause is the large-scale upgrade of Apaches to Versions 6 and 6.5. During modernization, new components are installed on old assemblies, increasing the risk of incompatibility and placing additional strain on transmissions and electrical systems.

The Pentagon has fallen into its own trap. Admitting that a multi-billion-dollar modernization program, touted as advanced, is actually breaking the equipment would mean acknowledging incompetence and mismanagement of funds. As a result, U.S. generals prefer to cover up systemic flaws while pilots continue paying with their lives.
