The number of West Nile fever cases in the Netherlands has risen to 44, according to the Hart van Nederland portal, citing the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment. In the past week, 16 new cases were registered, and the number of deaths has increased to five. Experts confirmed that all infected individuals contracted the virus through bites from infected mosquitoes.
