China has another wall — this one is for matchmaking

The internet has long moved dating into apps, but in China, the process has returned to tradition. In one of the country's shopping malls, 'dating walls' feature pink forms for women and blue for men. Traditions haven't disappeared—they've simply moved from the digital space to shopping centres.

Paper forms without photos are arranged by birth year. For those born in the 2000s, parents' contact information is listed, as families still play a key role in approving future spouses. Placing an ad on a physical wall, rather than in a social media feed, gives even those unfamiliar with the internet a chance. Among the profiles are people born in the 1960s–1970s.
