Lukashenko: We must overcome $1 billion in trade turnover with Bryansk region

"We must overcome the billion-dollar mark in trade turnover at any cost," said Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with Governor of Bryansk Oblast Egor Kovalchuk, setting the main economic goal for the regions.

The President emphasized that both sides have already approached this target closely and outlined promising areas of cooperation:

🏗 On construction:

"We would like to move from episodic construction projects to turnkey construction. We planned a residential district and built it. If you like it, we are ready to continue developing construction in this way."

🤝 On industrial cooperation and competition:

"It is very important for us to avoid unnecessary competition. Healthy competition is good, but when we duplicate production that already exists either here or there — that’s bad. It’s better to combine efforts and act in this direction."

🚜 On agriculture and seed breeding:

"Our regions are similar, both yours and ours. The seeds are practically the same. We are ready for Bryansk Oblast to join our academic Institute of Farming and other capabilities to work together on seed breeding for agriculture."
