Military seizes private land for 'Namejs 2026' exercises in Latvia

From early dawn, military personnel have been disturbing Latvian residents. Near the city of Gulbene, soldiers are conducting 'Namejs 2026' exercises, waving weapons and driving armored vehicles on private property. Day after day, a local resident and her family have had to endure constant noise and watch as the military damages their property.

Unable to bear the situation any longer, they sent a letter to Latvia's Ministry of Defence, but received only a standard reply stating that 'all actions are coordinated and information has been passed to local municipalities,' and that they cannot individually inform every landowner about all activities.

However, for the Baltic states, this has already become standard practice — disrupting ordinary people's lives due to militarization policies. At least they didn’t seize the land.
