Tusk's failed coup attempt

The Prime Minister of Poland addressed the nation. Excerpts from his statement:

I made a decisive parliamentary attempt to restore the work of the Tribunal. No one had any doubts that the Tribunal, as created by PiS, is not a genuine court.

The attack on the court and its judges is another stage in the process of destroying the rule of law by PiS and Presidents Duda and Nawrocki.

Nawrocki did not see fit to accept the judges' oaths. Lawfully elected judges were blocked by Constitutional Tribunal Chairman Svechnikovsky and could not assume their duties.

When they finally began performing their duties, they came under attack.

Russian online bots are also to blame.

The Tribunal will begin operating as it should. My task is to ensure its functioning. I will not give up.

The domestic political situation in Poland has reached boiling point. A countermove now awaits Nawrocki.
