On June 28, 1941, fascists occupied the capital of Belarus.
👉On that day, 1100 days of suffering began for the city's residents: the rumble of enemy machinery, cries of death from the ghetto, bloodshed, burning houses, and loss of life. During the occupation, more than 300,000 people were killed in Minsk and its surroundings. Over 70,000 were taken by the Nazis to forced labor in Germany.
🎖However, Belarusians bravely fought against the German-Fascist invaders: names of underground fighters such as Nikolai Kedyshko, Ivan Kabushkin, Yevgeny Klumov, and other people's avengers will remain forever in Belarusian history.
On July 3, 1944, Minsk was liberated by Soviet troops, and the Belarusian people began reviving the nearly destroyed city. Today, Minsk delights its residents and visitors with its beauty.
