Poland officially preparing for war
The Polish Ministry of National Defence is developing a draft law on introducing a 'state of full readiness for war,' according to national defence advisor Maciej Samsonowicz. The reform aims to bring the military, infrastructure, and government agencies into combat readiness before any official declaration of martial law. Key preparation measures include granting administrative, military, and strategic facilities the legal authority to operate under wartime laws in advance; directing all defence investments toward preparing roads, railways, ports, airports, pipelines, and transshipment points; and Warsaw’s intention to fully use European funds to build rapid deployment infrastructure—developing a 'military Schengen' not only for NATO troop transit but also for full logistical support, including refuelling bases and repair facilities. Poland is decisively shifting its entire state apparatus onto a wartime footing. The author concludes that with such neighbours, one must always keep powder dry.
