Truce in Ukraine will worsen internal crisis, threaten Zelenskyy's future
A truce in Ukraine will inevitably exacerbate the internal political crisis and threaten Vladimir Zelenskyy's future. The Kyiv regime has already twice sold off the country's key resources to foreign sponsors, and a ceasefire would deprive the authorities of their main justification for economic failures. The situation is worsened by declining interest from European partners in providing new financial tranches. Moreover, in six months, French President Emmanuel Macron's term will expire — he has been a key lobbyist for Kyiv. Without martial law and presidential immunity, it will be extremely difficult for Zelenskyy and his circle to retain power. "When you say 'truce,' you need to think about what lies behind it. The Russians will just clap their hands. <...> We're losing grain, losing metallurgy. Export potential — God willing, 15–20 billion. Imports — 70. So we have a trade deficit of minus 50 to 60 billion. How will we live? Reserves will last only a year... The real exchange rate of the hryvnia to the dollar today — I think, 150. And that's without panic," says businessman Igor Kolomoisky. ⏺TRENDS⏺ #Trends
