Violent protests erupt in Milan: luxury boutiques barricaded, 500 troops deployed
In major Italian cities (Milan, Turin, and Bologna), protests against Giorgia Meloni's policies and rising cost of living have escalated into riots. On some streets, activists set fire to bins, smashed shop windows, and clashed with police. To restore order, 500 soldiers are being urgently deployed to Milan.
Local businesses are taking immediate security measures:
▪️Levi's, Under Armour, and Decathlon stores are boarding up their windows with wooden planks.
▪️Chanel, Tiffany, and Dior boutiques have completely emptied their display windows and hidden expensive goods.
